What is to be done?

The youth movement of 25 January issued a “25 January revolution Communique #1” with its demands:
While stating that the Egyptian people now have full control over their land, fate and future, it adds that the revolution will continue until all the protesters’ demands are met. The demands listed include lifting the emergency law, releasing all political prisoners, a new constitution and the dissolving of parliament.
The statement also asked for the establishment of a transitional presidential council of five members, one from the military and the rest civilian. None of these figures, the statement adds, will be allowed to run for the country’s first presidential elections this September.
They also asked for the formation of a transitional government that will help run the country and pave the way for free and fair elections, but again none of its members will be allowed to run in the presidential or parliamentary elections.

Hani Shukrullah the executive director of the Heikal Foundation for Arab Journalism and former editor of Al-Ahram, has a to-do list in Egypt's Al-Ahram Online, calling for ending the state of emergency today, the release of political prisoners, and overhauling Egypt's domestic security apparatus.
At the end of his piece in al-Ahram he warns:

we need to guard against the urge to rush into elections. The urgent tasks noted above, and many more, are absolutely crucial to guarantee that truly democratic elections can be conducted. A new order is being born, but the old order is still rattling its chains. Let’s first exorcise the ghosts from our national home, only then can we furnish it at our leisure

The military sets a first time frame:
Egypt’s military leaders have told a coalition of young opposition leaders that they plan to convene a panel of distinguished jurists to submit a package of constitutional amendments within 10 days for approval in a national referendum within two months, setting a breakneck schedule for the transition to civilian rule

The reason is probably this - the strikes:
Confronting more immediate challenges, the governing Supreme Military Council issued a communiqué on Monday urging labor leaders to end the strikes that have broken out in the aftermath of the revolution.
